UJOSS leadership meets First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny

The Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) met with South Sudan’s First Vice President H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny on Thursday 7th, October, 2021.The meeting focused on the role of the media in the development of the country including on how youth unemployment should be tackled.UJOSS believes that quality information is essential for citizens in times of crisis such as the ongoing youth unemployment but there can be no trustworthy information without professional journalists.UJOSS calls on South Sudan’s government to work with journalists to enhance dissemination of information and provision of civic education to the public.7th. October also marks “The World Day for Decent Work (WDDW)”On this WDDW, UJOSS urges all stakeholders to provide conducive working environment for journalists to do their job.
