UJOSS Warrap Seeks Stronger Cooperation with Security Agencies Ahead of 2026 Elections
The Coordinator of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) in Warrap State, Daniel Mareng Wek, accompanied by journalist Joseph Ngor Deng, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Gen. Aleu Ayieny Aleu, to discuss strengthening cooperation between journalists and security institutions.
The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the media and law enforcement agencies to ensure a conducive environment for professional reporting before, during, and after the 2026 elections.
Gen. Aleu commended journalists across the country for their role in informing the public and emphasized the importance of objective, accurate, and responsible reporting throughout the electoral process.
Mareng thanked the Minister and security institutions in Warrap State for maintaining cordial relations with the media, noting that their support has enabled journalists to report freely on issues affecting the public.

The Ministry of Interior oversees the National Police Service, National Prisons Service, Civil Defense institutions responsible for maintaining law and order across the country.
